This months question is : How often do you work out? What's your preferred method of exercise?
Answer: I don't have one....... The end.
Okay fine.... I will expand. I'm currently 27 weeks Pregnant. Not that that should be an excuse not to exercises, I really do believe exercising throughout your pregnancy is great for you and baby. However, the reality is it just doesn't always work out that way. So instead, lets chat about what I USED to do pre- pregnancy:
I was fortunate enough to be in a job where I could use my lunch hour to pop over to the gym.... nothing better then getting the gym out of the way during the day. Especially when you have a toddler to get home to :) I'd say I would go about 3 times a week and would either use the tredmil, elliptical or do a spinning class.
Along with that, if my goal is to loose weight, I need to focus on a low carb diet. It's just what has proven to work for me. I would always incorporate complex carbs like Quinaoe etc, but simple carbs and refined sugars are an occasional treat.
Here is a throw back picture of me in my 80's ish off the shoulder work out gear:)
Post baby #2, my goal is really to get into top shape. I'm planning on incorporating one dance class a week ( I love dance classes....thinking salsa!) One hot yoga a week to work on my posture, and the balance would be at home DVD work outs since it is just more practical with two kids. Leaning towards the Brazilian butt lift DVDs, but I guess we will see:)
As always, take a look at some great posts from the lovely ladies below:)
Hope you have a great week!

Work gyms are the best - I remember trying out so many classes back at the office gym (pre-kids)...spinning, yoga, even kickboxing! And it's much easier to fit it in then rather than the end of the day.
ReplyDeleteI did not exercise AT ALL during my pregnancy - I had gestational diabetes, so I followed a pretty strict eating plan...and I was meant to exercise moderately but I always felt SOOOOO exhausted and drowsy...all I could manage was walking a few lengths around the house after meals LOL!
Love your workout gear - so cute!
Yeah! It's so great to work it into daily routine ... Plus it broke up my work day nicely :)
DeleteLol, glad I'm not alone with the pregnancy laziness .... I'm surprised to hear how many of my friends ha GD... I guess I just assumed it was generally only an excess weight issue , but based on my friends , it's not .
I'm going to "splurge" ( I guess that mean Lu Lu lemon ) on workout gear post baby as some motivation :)
Low carbs is not the answer (sorry I couldn't help myself). We will get you in tip top shape after baby #2!!! You were phenomenal before, and will be even better after!!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteIf you could help me get in top shape while eating carbs ... You would be my hero lol!
DeleteAlthough I will say I did loose weight very "healthy" post baby #1 ... Didn't cut out anything complelty ... But that only
For me so far ( I plateaued 15 lbs shy of my ultimate goal ...) I'm excited to be whooped into shape !
I got your back girl!!! Just have a healthy pregnancy and we'll work on your bod after! :)
Deletei'm not working out during pregnancy at all, afterwards i want to lose the weight so i'll have to step up my game!
ReplyDeleteyay.... im not alone! lol
DeleteHaha...work out during pregnancy? What does that even mean?! I'm hoping to be able to get to hot yoga or somethinggg once a week after this one...but let's be honest...my brasil butt lift video will probably get more love. Have you looked into Tracy Anderson's preg/post-pregnancy videos? I keep looking at them but have yet to purchase.

ReplyDeleteLOL. nope havent looked into anything regarding excersizing LOL but i do want to do that but lift business after baby. my butt needs some lifting!
DeleteI didn't really work out during my pregnancy either but I did hit the treadmill pretty hard (considering I was pregnant). I walked (briskly) about a mile and a half a day, almost every day. I'm so glad I did because at 3 weeks post pardum I only have 6 lbs to go until I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight!
